Supporting the Marine Corps and Toys for Tots

Building a caring team environment is one of our top Mako Consultants priorities. To do this, we often look for ways for our associates to work together and support worthwhile causes in the Birmingham area. For the 2017 holiday season, we’ve decided to put together a toy drive in support of the Toys for Tots program.

“As a child I was fortunate to have parents that were there to celebrate the holidays with me and buy me gifts. Not all children are so lucky,” stated Jeremiah, Mako Consultants’ Director of Operations. “I’m happy that we’re giving back to those kids who are less fortunate, and I hope our efforts help those children feel that same sense of excitement I always felt on Christmas morning.”

Not only are we enthusiastic about giving toys to children, we’re honored to be working with Toys for Tots as well. The program was first started back in 1947 by a single Marine Corps reservist, and the Marines officially adopted the program in 1948. Since then, they’ve collected and distributed over 530 million toys to more than 244 million children. While doing that, they’ve also earned a four-star rating from Charity Navigator and have been named in Philanthropy 400 as one of the top 400 charities for over 15 years.

We are excited about the smiles that will be on children’s faces thanks to Toys for Tots, and we’re glad to be helping them in their cause. To find out more about our culture, follow us on Newswire
